Cedar Valley Resort is nestled on 30 acres in a secluded valley, 4 1/2 minutes from Lanesboro, Minnesota. With the Root River Trail running through our resort and the Root River running along side, there is no better access for biking, hiking, canoeing, tubing or fishing. Whether you’re a couple, a group of friends, are planning a family reunion, business or church retreat, we believe we have the perfect setting and accommodations to fill your needs. New since 2001 are 8 deluxe cabins complete with 10′ log siding. These beautiful 3, 4, 6 & 8 bedroom cabins range in size from 1400 sq ft to 4700 sq ft. They can be rented individually or you can combine cabins for reunions or groups. Each cabin has a great room with gas fireplace, full kitchens including dishwashers and 8′ long log tables. Bike, tube, canoe, kayak, and cross-country ski rentals.

MN Cross Country Ski by Candle Light

Lanesboro, the Bed and Breakfast Capital of Minnesota invites you to enjoy our winter wonderland in Southeast Minnesota.  The Root River State trail is groomed with dual tracks and ready for cross country skiing.

Make plans now to join us February 5 – 7 for a “Flurry of Fun in February”  highlighted by the 18th annual Whalan Candlelight Ski on Saturday evening.  Start at the Whalan Town Hall at dusk, ski for a mile by candlelight and warm yourself by the bonfire.  Then ski back to Whalan for another bonfire, homemade soups, sandwiches and hot beverages at the Whalan Town Hall.  Skis can be rented at Cedar Valley Resort.

Lanesboro’s downtown district will be candlelit at dusk where restaurants, shops, Bed and Breakfasts and the Lanesboro Arts Center await your visit.

We have a fresh pack of snow in Lanesboro, Minnesota and it looks like a Winter Wonderland!  A great place to get away from the holiday bustle and relax in the place of no franchises!  The Root River State Trail is packed and tracked for cross-country skiing from one mile east of Fountain to Houston.
 The Harmony-Preston Valley trail is packed and tracked from Isinours Junction to six miles south of Preston.
 Ski passes are available in Lanesboro at the bp Gas Station, 100 Sheridan St W (Hwy 16) or the DNR website: www.dnr.state.mn.us/licenses/skipass/index.html. Cross Country Ski Boots & Equipment and Snowshoe Rental is available at Cedar Valley Resort

The Lanesboro area received 15 inches of snow this week!  Lanesboro, Minnesota is a beautiful destination for Minnesota Winter Vacations! The Root River State Trail has been groomed for cross-country skiing from Peterson to Fountain and at the Old Barn Resort junction for 12 miles toward Harmony.
