Description
Frozen River Film Fesrival presents a screening of Minnesota documentary adventure film “Jeff’s World,” directed by Brenda Piekarski, at the St. Mane Theatre in Lanesboro on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at 4 p.m. Frozen River Film Festival is happening February 7 – 11, 2018 in Winona. The film’s runtime is 65 minutes. The screening is free for FRFF ‘Big Muddy‘ pass holders.
A story of discovery, vision and grit, “Jeff’s World” takes a humorous behind-the-scenes look into the world of rock climbing and the tenacity required to build a sport climbing destination accessible only by boat and hidden in a pristine wilderness of shimmering lakes, dense forest, and blood-sucking insects.
Follow Jeff Engel, an accomplished route developer, and his friends as they seek, find, develop and climb Jeff’s World, a wild and remote climbing area ten miles beyond the Minnesota border into Canada.
Originally spotted by Jeff’s father as he soared overhead in his float plane, Jeff’s World is a collection of granite outcroppings streaked in black and gold that only a lucky few have ever seen. Following his father’s discovery, Jeff and his dad mapped out coordinates, boated to a trailhead and bushwhacked their way deep into the woods where Jeff spent the next 15 years building trails and bolting new routes to create the epic playground that is now known as Jeff’s World.
Grab your boat, passport, and bug spray. Head into the wild. Discover a new place. And, when you find the raft, you’ll know you have arrived.
