Mission

The Lanesboro Area Chamber of Commerce works to

• advance the civic, commercial, industrial, agricultural, cultural, environmental, and recreational interests of the Lanesboro Area and its residents
• ensures cooperation among Lanesboro Area businesses and community organization
• retain, expand, and develop beneficial Lanesboro Area businesses
• promote the Lanesboro Area as the best place to live, learn, work, visit, and operate a business

Organization

The Chamber is a 100+ member-based organization which is open to individual supporting members, non-profit members and businesses through an annual dues investment.

The Chamber strengthens the community by identifying needs, problems, and opportunities. Through committees of volunteers from membership, the Chamber implements and achieves its goals. Committees work in the areas of Business Promotion, Community Initiatives, Finance, Marketing and Website.

The Chamber oversees the Lanesboro Visitor Center and employs three part-time and one Executive Director. A 9-member volunteer Board of Directors governs the Chamber and works to improve the community and the area's business climate.

Communication

The Chamber provides relevant and timely information to its members regarding business and community related issues and activities. Members receive the Chamber monthly newsletter and information via email. Lanesboro's Monthly Community Forum serves as a venue to share information and network solutions to local issues.

Community Development

The Chamber provides Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies for new businesses and new chamber members. The "Growing Lanesboro" Project is a Relocation Package used to market the city to prospective new residents, students or employers. The Community Initiative Committee has served to lead the Lanesboro Community in developing a 2015 Vision.

Visitor Center and Referrals

Every year the Visitor Center makes over 18,000 direct (telephone & in-the-door) referrals for the names of local business, professionals, services and products.

The Chamber promotes its members:

• Build name awareness with print, display and event exposure
• Display your brochure in the Chamber office
