Paul Bunyan & Babe Take Over the Corn Maze

As the air cools and the leaves start to change, the farm transforms into a playground that’s fun for the whole family. Whether you’re hunting for the perfect pumpkin or weaving your way through the massive 10-acre corn maze, Big Springs Farm offers something for everyone. This year’s theme brings the legendary duo Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox to life, guiding you through 5 miles of winding trails. For those up for an extra challenge, keep an eye out for the hidden checkpoint—a fun twist that maze veterans look forward to each season.

5 Ways to Tackle the Corn Maze

The 10-acre Paul Bunyan & Babe Corn Maze is always a highlight, and in 2025 it’s packed with fun ways to experience its 5 miles of trails. Here are five ways to take on the challenge:

  1. Attack It Head-On – Use the 12 checkpoints (plus a secret one!) to guide your way. Grab a paper map and maze card and see how fast you can complete the course.

  2. Whodunit? – Farmer Joe is missing! Solve the mystery by tracking down 7 animal suspects scattered throughout the maze and piecing together the clues.

  3. Use Technology – Scan the QR code at the maze entrance and use GPS to track your path. (Tip: still grab a paper map—cell service can be spotty in the fields!)

  4. Flashlight Maze – Explore the maze after dark with your flashlight on October 17, 18 & 25. It’s not haunted, but wandering the corn at night brings its own kind of thrill.

  5. Choose Your Own Adventure – Skip the checkpoints and wander wherever the path takes you. The maze is yours to enjoy however you like!

The pumpkin patch stretches across 1.5 acres, now boasting nearly 150 varieties of pumpkins, squash, and gourds to choose from. Whether you’re decorating your porch, cooking up a fall recipe, or carving the ultimate jack-o-lantern, you’ll find the perfect pick.

If you visit in September, don’t miss the sunflower hillside, which typically blooms during the first three weekends of the season—a perfect backdrop for family photos. You can also craft your own bouquet in the cut-your-own flower patch, featuring seasonal favorites like sunflowers, zinnias, marigolds, amaranth, and celosias, with vases provided to help you bring home a little extra color.

And for younger explorers, the mini corn maze offers just the right amount of adventure.

For those chasing the perfect Instagram shot, Big Springs doesn’t disappoint. Wander through the sunflower hillside, pose in the cut-your-own flower patch, or climb the maze lookout tower for sweeping views of the farm and fall colors.
