  • Experience the Magic of Lanesboro - November 23rd and 30th

Lanesboro, Minn -- Come to our historic downtown district to Experience the Magic of a small-town holiday by visiting Lanesboro on November 23rd and 30th. Spend the day (or both days) with your family doing winter-themed events, buying gifts, and experiencing art.

On November 23rd, we’ll kick off the day with a Norwegian bake sale and a kids Christmas shopping house at the Cottage House Inn. Santa will make an appearance there at 2:00pm, arriving in a fire truck. Kids can visit Santa from 2:15pm-3:00pm at the Cottage House Inn. To wrap-up the day, treat yourself and your family to the opening performance of the Commonweal Theatre’s musical: Sanders Family Christmas at 7:30pm.

There are even more events to enjoy all day long on November 23rd! Granny’s Liquor will be hosting a Lefse demonstration and sampling. There will be a LEGO building contest held at the Parkway Market & Coffeehouse. You can even make your own charm necklace at the Peddler or stop by Home Sweet Home’s Sweet Shop for smore kits, a hot cocoa bar, and cookie decorating! There so much fun, it’s almost too much to name: a photo booth, drawings, samplings, sales, a scavenger hunt, a food drive, hat and mitten drive, and live music!

November 30th, we officially start the holiday shopping season by celebrating Small Business Saturday! The shops in town will be doing some unique offerings: Granny’s Liquor will be giving out samples and playing host to a “Man Cave” with manly events from 11:00am-3:00pm. They will also host a beard contest at 3:00pm. Chocolate lovers rejoice because The High Court Pub will be doing chocolate pairings for Wine and Beer all day! Come to the Parkway Market & Coffeehouse to enjoy samples from their selection of over 77 cheeses. E2 will be putting on a flannel & plaid fashion show for men’s and women’s looks.

The shop owners aren’t the only ones celebrating on Small Business Saturday! Home Sweet Home will have their sweet shop open for smores, hot cocoa, and cookie decorating. You can also buy a wreath from our local Boy Scout troupe or go to a bonfire near the Stone Mill Suites. Enjoy live music by Tom Schramm while you vote for your favorite Christmas Tree in the downtown store windows. At 5:30pm, Mayor Jason Resseman will be doing the tree lighting of the large tree at Parkway Place. Then the day wraps up with a performance of Sanders Family Christmas at 7:30pm.

Lanesboro’s holiday fun doesn’t stop there! 7 of our Inns will be hosting the 2019 Christmas Inn Tour on Sunday, December 8th from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Pre-sale tickets are on sale now at https://www.lanesboro.com/store/christmas-inn-tour-tickets.
