We came to Lanesboro to explore another small town connected to my boyfriend’s family, and after walking around town, we were still hungry from our unfinished meals in Spring Valley. That’s how we ended up at Pedal Pushers, and I’m honestly glad we stopped in. The restaurant has a ton of indoor seating along with some outdoor seating. We opted to sit inside, and the space is really cute. The decorations fit the small-town atmosphere perfectly, the restaurant was clean, and the staff were very kind and welcoming. One thing that was a little unusual was the layout. You can pretty much see directly into the kitchen from the dining area, which is interesting, and you actually have to walk past the kitchen to get to the restroom. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, just a little different and something we noticed. For food, we ordered the chicken pot pie and the salmon bowl, along with Loon Juice ciders. The chicken pot pie was really good. My boyfriend specifically noted that the crust was perfect and that there was a good amount of filling inside. Everything was cooked perfectly, and it was definitely one of those comfort food dishes that hits the spot. I went with the salmon bowl, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. It was so good that I’m actually planning to work something similar into my meals at home. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the sauce that came with it. Maybe the purple color threw me off a little, but I’m glad I asked for it on the side so I could enjoy the bowl without it. The roasted chickpeas were probably my favorite surprise. They added a little sweetness to the bowl that I wasn’t expecting, but it worked perfectly with everything else. Another really cute touch is that they offer free Bibles. It’s a small-town detail you don’t see everywhere, and it added to the welcoming feel of the place. The location is right in the center of town, so it’s convenient if you’re walking around and exploring Lanesboro. We visited on a Thursday afternoon, and it wasn’t busy at all, which made it a nice, relaxed stop. Overall, Pedal Pushers was a great find. The food was genuinely good, the staff were friendly, the restaurant was clean and charming, and the atmosphere fit Lanesboro perfectly. After our disappointing food experience earlier in Spring Valley, Pedal Pushers definitely redeemed lunch for us. I’d happily come back, especially for that salmon bowl.
