My wife & I and another couple visited Lanesboro MN for several days of bicycle riding in Sept 2025. The Root River trail system has 40+ miles of beautiful trails. We spent 3 nights at the Green Gables Inn where we have stayed for several years. The inn is perfectly located just on the edge of town. The grounds are stunning with flowering gardens, a gazebon and a lovely patio area with umbrella tables. And all this while the meticulously kept property's edge boarders the quietly regal Root River. In the morning we saw 3 while tailed deer quietly walking through. The rooms are spacious & well kept. Nice hot showers are always a positive & welcome requirement when spending time bike riding. In-room coffee & tea are a plus, with morning muffins available in the Inn's centrally located lounge. New this year is the big green lockable bike shed. There's secure & dry overnight storage for our bikes with bike-racks & a worhbench with power for recharging e-bike batteries. Of course we will return to the Green Gables Inn again! It feels like home. We highly recommend it for any visitors to the Lanesboro area, whether you're biking, fishing, antiquing, or on a fall color safari. Enjoy & relax this is the place to stay!
