Stellar 181 Taphouse features 20 Midwest beers on tap, over 50 Bourbons and a scratch kitchen that is chef-driven and focuses on bringing you an elevated bar food experience.

Stellar 181 Taphouse opened the summer of 2021 by Alex and Jenn Slifka through their love of craft beer.

As busy parents of 3 very active boys, Alex and Jenn didn't have the time nor the energy to drive very far to enjoy craft beer. After purchasing a historic building downtown Spring Valley, they decided to open a tap house so they and their community could enjoy a variety of craft beers from all over the Midwest.

The building itself holds so much natural beauty; with exposed brick, original wood floors and tin ceilings. Alex, a carpenter and woodworker by trade, enhanced the building with wood features including custom tables, bar tops and the bulkhead above the bar.

"Our concept is simple, we want to serve stellar beers from the Midwest, delicious food from our chef-driven, from-scratch kitchen and host a place where family and friends can gather in a beautiful setting."
