For 19 years, Bluff Country Studio Art Tour has been a spring time tradition for many visitors, coming from far away or just down the street, to see what Bluff Country’s artists created during the winter. Traveling from location to location, visitors are awed with the scenic views, and the winding roads encountered along the way. Visitors are as intrigued by the places where artists from the area create as they are amazed by the works the artists put out in the world for all to enjoy.
This tour is also about connection just as much as it is about the new creations the artists reveal. Artists enjoy the opportunity to reconnect with the community near and far after the winter season and sharing our new work with curious visitors. Many visitors find connection with a friend or loved one along the way as they enjoy the drive together from one artist location to the next. Memories are created as they discuss what they’ve seen.
This annual spring time event is a unique opportunity to see where art is made and form a more personal connection with the art, the artists and the beauty of the Bluffland in southeastern Minnesota. Along the way, take in some of the phenomenal views and enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants our area offers.
Have a pint at one of our breweries or a drink at one of the distilleries (but always drink responsibly!) There’s always something new to see, something new to learn, so take this opportunity, ask questions and fully enjoy your visit to Bluff Country and our studios.
If you see some art you like give it a new home. Most importantly though, be sure to take advantage of the opportunity to shake off some of that dust from your soul. The 2019 Bluff Country Studio Art Tour takes place Friday, April 26, through Sunday, April 28. Studios are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Attending the event is free and open to the public. The tour is self-guided so visitors are welcome to visit as many or as few artists as they’d like. Many artists will be doing demonstrations throughout the weekend. More information about participating artists and a tour map can be found at bluffcountrystudioarttour.org.
