Lanesboro Arts is thrilled to present Humbird on Saturday, September 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Mane Theatre. Every piece of Humbird's is able to completely encapsulate listeners with its incredible instrumentals and heartfelt lyrics. While Humbird's music addresses complex systemic and societal issues, it is able to transcend listeners to a space of unity and togetherness.
Released in 2019 was Humbird’s debut full-length album Pharmakon. Due to its harmonic folk style, it has received praise from countless people. The release garnered millions of online streams and a wide range of accolades, including 89.3FM The Current’s “Best Local Albums Of The Year,” one of City Page’s “Picked To Click” Awards, “Best Minnesota Albums” from the Star Tribune, and as an official showcasing artist at SXSW in Austin.
Though this indie folk group started as a side project by the lead singer and songwriter, Siri Undlin, it quickly became her main focus. In addition, Humbird now also consists of drummer Peter Quirsfeld, bassist Pat Keen, and co-producer Adelyn Strei. Their music has an air of both folk and Americana, and each song tells a different, touching story. Still Life, the band’s newest release deals with the intersection of so many powerful emotions while also bringing a familiar comfort to its listeners. The unique instrumentation combines with thought-provoking lyrics to create a beautiful experience for every listener every time. Not only does Humbird's music resonate with listeners, but it also gently calls listeners to action.
The concert will take place from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., and tickets are $25 General Admission ($22 for Lanesboro Arts members).
This event is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
