In this very small, highly specialized class each student will get to dissect an owl to learn first-hand about the bones, organs, feathers, eyes, ears and more. You will also take skeletal measurements and try your hand at sorting molted feathers for research. Species that will be dissected include Snowy, Ferruginous Pygmy, Great Horned, Barred, Eastern Screech-, and a very flat Northern Hawk Owl. Participants will also learn about ethical owl observation and how to detect signs of stress in owls.
