Poets Morgan Grayce Willow and Athena Kildegaard will be doing a poetry discussion and signing of their works at Lanesboro Arts Gallery on Saturday, October 21st from 1-4 p.m., with a poetry reading at 2:30 p.m.
Morgan Grayce Willow has received a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative grant for 2017 to complete her fourth poetry collection. Earlier titles include Dodge & Scramble, Between, Silk, The Maps are Words. An award-winning essayist, Morgan’s prose has appeared in Water~Stone Review, Imagination & Place: Cartography, the anthology Riding Shotgun: Women Write about Their Mothers, as well as BoomerLitMag, Fall 2015. Her interest in visual elements of poetry and book arts led her to the Minnesota Center for Book Arts where she completed the core certificate and exhibited her one-of-a-kind artist’s book Collage for Mina Loy in 2016. Morgan teaches at The Loft Literary Center and is Visiting Poet for the Creative Writing Program at St. Cloud State University during fall semester 2017.
Athena Kildegaard's books include VENTRILOQUY (Tinderbox Editions, 2016) Rare Momentum , BODIES OF LIGHT (Red Dragonfly Press, 2011), a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award, and Cloves & Honey . She received the LRAC/McKnight Fellowship and grants from the Lake Region Arts Council and the Minnesota State Arts Board. She teaches at the University of Minnesota, Morris.
