Interested in trying taxidermy? Spend an afternoon having fun and learning the easier-than-expected art of animal preservation.
In this introductory class to the ancient art form of taxidermy, you’ll learn basic techniques of preparing, stuffing, and mounting animal skins. A brief introduction will set the stage for you to create your very own mouse rug or stuffed mouse in an action setting of your choice. All equipment and materials are provided, and you get to keep your mouse! Don’t worry if you’re feeling squeamish; most people find the process far less gruesome than they imagined.
Instructor – Colleen Foehrenbacher is the Education Director at Eagle Bluff and an avid taxidermy artist. She is a collector of odd and misshapen taxidermy, highlighted by a mounted jackalope and mangled coot which preside in her office.
