    Job Summary: Our start-up restaurant, scheduled to open in May 2020, is looking for an experienced, dedicated Cook who is passionate about providing an innovative and quality product. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working with fresh ingredients in a farm to table establishment. The Cook will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of the kitchen service and prepare meals under the direction of the Chef.     Job Requirements
    • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
    • Collaborate with the Chef and other Cooks to prepare meals during dining hours
    • Maintain accurate food inventories
    • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
    • Rotate stock items as per established procedures
    • Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
    • Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
    • Maintain good relationship with customers and suppliers
     
    Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma/GED required
    • 2+ years’ experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry
    • Experience in using cutting tools, bakeware and cookware
    • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
    • Able to read and follow standardized recipes
    • Strong knowledge of proper food handling and environmental sanitation standards
    • Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
    • Good and effective communication skills to be able to pass ideas across to kitchen and also understand what exactly customers want
    • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to multi-task and coordinate activities in pressing situations
    • Good time management skills to complete tasks and meet set targets
    • Must be creative and proactive in attending to the various needs of customers
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Basic computer knowledge
     
    Preferred Qualifications
    • An Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts, or equivalent work experience
    • ServeSafe Certification
    • Experience with a kitchen-based Point of Sale system
