    Gazing Forward Into the Holidays

As the holiday season approaches, we can't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for the festivities ahead. In this edition of our newsletter, we are thrilled to share the joy and magic that the holidays bring to our charming community of Lanesboro. However, before we take you through what to expect in the coming weeks, let's pause just a moment to take a peek back to what has happened in our community during late October and early November.

Our Chamber's Community Engagement Team hosted the first Parkway Plaza Pumpkin Party on Sunday, Oct. 29. It was a chilly day, but we had fun with the kids and parents who attended. We found warmth around the fire and some hot apple cider warmed our insides in the most delicious way! We had some great pumpkin creations on display and members of the community came along to cast their votes for their favorite jack-o-lanterns.

Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center was the host of the Governor's Deer Opener last Friday and Saturday, welcoming hunters from all over the state. It was an excellent opportunity to showcase our beautiful landscapes and warm Lanesboro hospitality. Thank you to all those at Eagle Bluff who worked hard to bring that event to Lanesboro. We hope everyone had a successful and memorable hunting experience in our picturesque surroundings.

Now, let's gaze ahead to the upcoming events that will get us all in the holiday spirit in the most joyful of ways. Make sure to mark your calendars for these special events because you are not going to want to miss a thing. The Community Christian Cantata, "He Lived the Good Life," will be performed on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran and Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. at Sons of Norway Hall. The "Experience the Magic" Event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, and promises to be a day filled with enchanting activities and holiday cheer. The Holiday Dinner Dance will be held the following Saturday, Dec. 2, at the community center. Finally, the annual Holiday Sing Along with Dan Chouinard will be held on Friday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m. at the St. Mane Theatre! Again, more information is included on these events, later in the newsletter.

As we move closer to the holiday season, our community is filled with warmth and togetherness. We look forward to sharing more stories, events and updates with you in the upcoming weeks. Your support and engagement continue to make Lanesboro a wonderful place to call home.

As always, I hope you have a wonderful day,

    Melissa Vander Plas
