LANESBORO, MN — The Lanesboro Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Joe Goetzke as its new executive director.

Joe has been a board member of LACC since 2020, most recently serving as board chair for the past two years. He has worked as the Marketing and Communications Director at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center for the last five years. He also has experience as a member of the Lanesboro City Council and Economic Development Authority. Joe brings to this new role his passion for Lanesboro and Whalan as well as years of experience in nonprofit management and marketing and sales from previous roles in the Twin Cities.  

“We are very excited to welcome Joe as our new executive director of the Lanesboro Area Chamber of Commerce. As a board member and board chair, he has guided the Chamber through transitions and greatly helped with strategies and marketing. Joe’s skills, knowledge, and passion will propel our member-based organization as we continue to strive to be one of Minnesota’s top destinations and a community that is a premier place to live, work and play,” says board member Alison Leathers.

The LACC staff consists of Goetzke as executive director, with Jonathan Levine as office administrator. The team is rounded out by a committed group of volunteers and community ambassadors.

“I couldn’t be more excited to transition into the executive director role for the chamber,” Goetzke said. “The Lanesboro area has such a vibrant, collaborative, and diverse business community. It’s an honor to be in the position to help our member businesses reach their full potential while continuing LACC’s rich tradition of promoting Lanesboro and Whalan as a top tourist destination and an amazing place to start a business and raise a family.”
