    35th Annual Buffalo Bill Days #OnlyInLanesboro #OnlyInMN

Lanesboro, MN -- The 35th Annual Buffalo Bill Days is ready to kick off on Thursday, August 1, 2019, and continues through Sunday, August 4, 2019. Lanesboro's annual town celebration honors the history of Buffalo Bill Cody visiting Lanesboro in 1867 to see his friend Dr. David Powell and coming up with the idea for his Buffalo Bill Wild West Show.

This year's event will start with the Thursday night Sip and Savor gathering at the Granary Building with proceeds going to the local community. Throughout the weekend are various tournaments such as men's softball, golf, co-ed volleyball and youth 3-on-3 basketball. Live music will be heard throughout the weekend in Sylvan Park during the day and entertainment and dancing in the evening. There are many family-friendly activities throughout the weekend including horse-drawn wagon rides, a petting zoo and balloons in Sylvan Park. Step back in time on Sunday to see a wild west robbery reenactment at Merchant's Bank and a shoot-out at Sylvan Park.

The grand parade will begin at 1:30 pm on Sunday, and it is proud to feature Lanesboro's American Legion Henry Guttormson Post #40 as its grand marshals. The National American Legion is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2019, and Lanesboro's post is 99 years old this year.

Lanesboro's American Legion Post #40 is a very important part of the community for the many services is proudly provides such as flag retirement and flag etiquette information, being a physical gathering space, and helping local families, individuals and veterans among many other services. Lanesboro and its many residents and visitors are ready for another memorable and fun weekend to celebrate the town and its strong commitment to volunteerism, community, and history.
