  • Lanesboro Christmas Inn Tour Set for December 8th

    Lanesboro, Minn. -- Several innkeepers in Lanesboro are prepping for the holidays with Christmas décor and food to help welcome in the season.

    Tickets are on sale for the 2019 Lanesboro Christmas Inn Tour set for Sunday, December 8 from 2 to 6 p.m. Enjoy touring seven area Bed and Breakfasts and Inns this year. Participating inns include: the Cedar Valley Resort, Whalan; and in Lanesboro the James A. Thompson House; Habberstad House Bed and Breakfast; Scandinavian Inn; Stone Mill Hotel and Suites; Sacred Clay Inn; and The Historic Scanlan House Bed and Breakfast.

    Highlights of the tour this year include seeing the new Event Center at the Cedar Valley Resort, performances by Sister Luv at Sacred Clay, beautiful holiday décor and food at each inn.

    New this year for inn tour ticket holders is an Artisan Christmas Market beginning at 11 a.m. and running until 6 p.m. Lanesboro Area Art Trail Artists will sell unique art at the Cedar Valley Resort Event Center in nearby Whalan. Artists participating and their mediums include Joni Finnegan, painter; Jane Grevstad, fiber; Cheryl Lamon, fiber; Sue Pariseau, pottery; and Jennifer Wood, watercolor painting.

    In addition, local Lanesboro historians Theo “Ted” St. Mane and Steve Harris will do short presentations and readings at the Cedar Valley Event Center.

    Ticket Sales: Information about the tour and a link to purchase tickets is available at lanesborochristmasinntour.com through the day of the event. Tickets are $25 each through December 7. Day of event tickets are $30 and are available December 8 online or in person at the Lanesboro Visitors Center or at the Cedar Valley Resort Event Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Those staying at one of the participating inns during the inn tour can get tickets for $15 each. 

    This year, the Lanesboro innkeepers decided to give five dollars of every ticket sale to support mental health awareness and suicide prevention through the Brain and Behavioral Research Foundation.
