Cedar Valley Resort’s story began long before the first cabin was ever built, back when the Johnson family first settled along the Root River in the 1920s, on land once tied to the railroad that’s now the Root River State Bike Trail. Over the decades, the property became home to hard work, big dreams, and a growing vision that Larry Johnson carried with him from childhood. After years of planning and faith-filled determination, Larry and his wife Sheryl welcomed their first guests in 2001. What started small quickly grew into the award-winning resort families love today. Still family-run, Cedar Valley now features 11 thoughtfully spaced cabins designed for connection, privacy, and unforgettable gatherings. With river adventures, bike trail access, cozy fires, and space for everything from family vacations to reunions to business and church retreats, Cedar Valley isn’t just a getaway, it’s the kind of place that becomes part of your story.
