Join accomplished wood turner Duane Hill for this two-day, hands-on workshop. You’ll spend your weekend learning the ins and outs of wood turning so that you can turn your own bowl. On Saturday, you’ll be introduced to a variety of topics on the art of wood turning, including: tool safety and sharpening, wood selection, bowl design, and the basics of wood rounding. Sunday will be spent on the lathes, practicing and turning your own wooden bowls. You will have the opportunity to turn 1-2 bowls.
Note: Wood will be provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own bowl blanks (6-8” diameter and about 3-4” thick). Wood can be wet or dry. All class participants will need a full face shield. There will be a few to borrow during class.
Day 1: 9am-5pm Day 2: 9am-5pm Class length on days may vary depending on personal projects.
