    Summary

    We are excited to welcome an individual to oversee all marketing and communication activities for Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center. In this role, you will take the lead in marketing Eagle Bluff programs (Outdoor School, Summer Camps, Public Programs, Fellowship Program, and Nature Preschool) and managing communications with supporters, donors, stakeholders, customers, and the general public. You will be an integral part of the Eagle Bluff leadership team where you’ll work in a supportive environment and truly make a meaningful impact with visitors, fostering a love for nature, learning, and outdoor stewardship. 

    Organization Overview

    Essential Functions:

    Marketing, communications, and public relations | 70%

    • Acts as organizational lead for marketing, messaging, and branding for the overall organization but also for our programs (Outdoor School, Summer Camps, Nature Preschool, Fellowship, and Public Events).
      • Follow the recommendations put forth in the K-12 marketing roadmap prepared by outside consultants. 
    • Develops and manages our digital marketing tools, including website (currently on WordPress) and social media (currently Facebook and Instagram), to promote Eagle Bluff and its programs.
    • Guides editorial direction, design, production, and distribution of all publications (program brochures, donor newsletters, donor appeals, etc).
    • Reviews content (for the limited promotional materials created by other staff) to ensure consistency in brand and language and quality. 
    • Creates, updates, and oversees the annual marketing plan. 
    • Collaborates with program staff to develop and implement strategies for marketing Eagle Bluff programs and services. 
    • In conjunction with the Executive Director, acts as the organization’s representative with the media.
    • Coordinates the appearance of all print and electronic materials such as letterhead, business cards, use of logo, brochures, etc.
    • Manages and monitors the marketing budget.
    • Represents Eagle Bluff at local, regional, and national meetings and conferences.

    Development | 30%

    • Assists with regular donor communications, including but not limited to, recording and acknowledging of donation receipts, quarterly newsletters, emails, annual report, and thank you cards. 
    • Works closely with the Executive Director and staff to develop and support cooperative relationships that advance Eagle Bluff.
    • Implements and executes a year-round, multi-channel fundraising strategy for engaging the community and encouraging financial support. 
    • Records donations in the donor database. 
    • Assists with development events such as the annual fundraising banquet and other donor events. 
    • Acquires silent auction items for the annual fundraising banquet.

    General 

    • Attends leadership team meetings (every other week). 
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Eagle Bluff is a small organization, requiring support by all employees in all areas as needs arise. 
    • Leads and participates in staff meetings.

    Minimum Education & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of experience in marketing and communications roles.
    • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns.
    • Experience with managing websites, donor databases, and event registration platforms.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and concisely.
    • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
    • Exhibits strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and ability to work with a team. 
    • Ability to pass a background check.

    Preferred Qualifications & Skills

    • Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of experience in a managerial role within marketing and communications.
    • Knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing.
    • Experience in fundraising and/or creating donor-facing materials or other fundraising materials. 
    • Experience writing donor appeals and newsletters.

    Please note that meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview, as there may be a competitive selection process based on the number of qualified applicants. The preferred qualifications indicate additional skills and experience that would be beneficial for the position.

    Compensation:

    • $44,000-$46,000 starting annual salary

    Other:

    • Schedule:  Monday to Friday, limited weekends as needed. 
    • Ability to commute/relocate: Lanesboro, MN 55949: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required); The position is based on our campus in Lanesboro, MN. Complete remote work is not possible, although hybrid options might be available.
